Have a Zooper Monday!

I finally had some time to ink up my new Kim Hughes Zooper Fun set this weekend and finished up this card. I used the tree in this set as my inspiration and went with a wood theme.

The image was coloured with Kohinoor pencils and baby oil. I love the shading you can achieve with just one colour pencil. After blending the overall colour I just went back with the same colour pencil and added more colour around the edges and blended again. For those of you who haven’t gotten into the Copic craze yet, these inexpensive pencils are a great way to achieve a nice blended look at a fraction of the price. You can buy the Kohinoor pencils at Michaels in the art aisle or at your local art store for less than $15 for a 24 pack (at Michaels of course you’ll need a coupon for that price but check out De Serres or Curry’s to get them cheaper).

I created the wood look for the back of the card using the Wood Grain backgrounder (from Cornish Heritage Farms) and a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I use Coredinations cardstock with the embossing folder and sanded it at the end to reveal the light core.

Supplies:
Stamps: Kim Hughes Zooper Fun by Cornish Heritage Farms, Kim Hughes Bear Hugs (sentiment) by Cornish Heritage Farms, Woodgrain backgrounder by Cornish Heritage Farms
Ink: Memento black, Versafine Sepia
Cardstock: Coredinations, Bazzill
Patterned Paper: K and Company
Accessories: American Crafts ribbon, Kohinoor pencils, Nestabilities dies, Cuttlebug embossing folder
