It's Cardabilities reveal day!

Wow, I can't believe that May is almost over!  Since it's the end of the month that means it's time for my Cardabilities sketch reveal.  Karan created another wonderful sketch for us to work with.

For this card I embossed some Coredinations cardstock with a Quickutz embossing folder for my base.  I built up the card using a Martha Stewart around the page punch and some Nestabilities dies.  The Pure Innocence Better Get Better image from My Favorite Things was coloured with Copics.

Please stop by the Cardabilities blog to see the sketch and the other designer's interpretation.

Supplies:
Stamp:  Pure Innocence "Better Get Better" by My Favorite Things
Papers:  October Afternoon Thrift Shop, Coredinations cardstock
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories:  Quickutz embossing folder, Copic Markers, Cosmo Cricket letter stickers, Prima Flowers, button, Martha Stewart Around the page punch, Nestabilites dies

Peacock Elvis is strutting his stuff

Cornish Heritage Farms released TWO new Elvis stamps/sets last week.  This is one of the wood mounted stamps called Peacock Elvis and here are two cards I created with the stamp.

Of course I can barely do an Elvis card without some bling so this irst one fis super shiny!  I embossed the image in sparkle embossing powder and then added some colour with a Tombow marker.  I didn't have any teal cardstock that I could find  handy so I just coloured my punched out frame with Tombow marker.  I'll definitely use that technique again!!

The second card is a simple one in kraft and black.  I wanted the feather trim to be the focal point so I kept the card design simple.

Supplies:
Stamps: Peacock Elvis by Cornish Heritage Farms
Ink: Adirondack black
Paper: K and Co., Georgia Pacific cardstock
Accessories: Martha Stewart edge punches, Tombow marker, Tattered Angels glimmer mist, Glitter embossing powder, Stickles

Supplies:
Stamp: Peacock Elvis by Cornish Heritage Farms
Ink: Versafine Black
Paper: The Paper company cardstock
Accessories: Spellbinders dies, Cuttlebug embossing folder, feather trim, button, twine

Sorry I've been so crabby.....

Here's a little peek at a new Sara England "Emerging" set that is being released next Tuesday, May 25th at Cornish Heritage Farms.  I totally LOVE this sentiment and of course the emerging crab image.  Just think....you could make a whole pile of these to give out to your husband each time you're in a crabby mood LOL!

I stamped the crab onto some white cardstock with Adirondack Red Pepper ink and then I used some Pebbles Inc. chalks to create the blue background.  Chalks are a fabulous way to create a subtle colour for skies or water and I personally prefer them to using my Copics (plus they're way cheaper LOL!!).

I'll be back with some projects from the other new "Emerging" sets.

Supplies:
Stamps: Sara England Emerging Crab by Cornish Heritage Farms (available May 25th)

Ink: Adirondack Red Pepper, Memento Tuxedo black
Paper: Georgia Pacific cardstock, K and Company
Accessories: Chalks

Unity + Cosmo Cricket = fun!

I just got my new Unity Stamps Cosmo Cricket stamps in the mail and I couldn't wait to get them inky.

For this card I used some scraps from the Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety pack and used the new Unity Garden Variety stamp set.  To create the patchwork effect I just glued strips of paper to my card base and then trimmed around the base.  The ribbon and bee were both paper pieced.

As always, thanks for stopping by!!

Supplies:
Papers:  Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo black
Accessories:  Fiskars Border punch, Copic markers

Cardabilites sketch #15

It's the 15th of the month and that means it's time for the Cardabilities sketch reveal!

Although I'm not a huge fan of digital stamps, I saw this Greeting Farm cutie on some one's blog and I *HAD* to get it.  I wish it was available in rubber because I think she'd look so cute paper pieced and quite frankly I'm too lazy to mess with the computer and printer.  Anyways....here's my card for sketch #3.

This card uses some of the OLDEST paper I have in my stash.  See that netting paper and that I love tennis paper.....it's probably from the 90's (I'm NOT kidding!!).  Hopefully this will encourage you to dig out some of your really old stuff bc you can make it fresh by adding some modern looking stamps and embellishments.

Be sure to stop by the Cardabilites blog for the sketch and the rest of the designer's samples.

Supplies:
Stamp:  Tennis Anya (digital) from the Greeting Farm
Paper:  Bazzill cardstock, patterned paper from the dinosaur age ;)
Accessories:  Prima flowers, button, fabric store ruffle trim, dollarstore glitter letters, Copic markers
