It's Your Next Stamp Fun Friday with a trip to the beach

Hello and Happy Friday!  WOW, this summer just FLEW by.  I can't believe it's the final day of August today.  Anyways, it's time for another Your Next Stamp Fun Friday and today I have a card for you where I used a sort of non-traditional stamp for our "celebration" theme.  When I was flipping through my binder of stamps I saw this cute Ellie Loves the Beach and to me it looked like she was celebrating so I used her to create a nice summery birthday card.
I stamped the image onto some white cardstock, coloured with my Copics and matted onto a pinking edge die cut to make it look like a sun.  To make by background sky blue, I used some chalks....it's a great way to cover a large area quickly.

And this cute stamp happens to be on sale for 40% off at the time of this post.  So why not grab one today?
Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out the YNS blog for the rest of the design team projects AND the Splitcoaststampers forum for our FF post.

Some Authentique Itty Bitty cards

Good morning!

Here are a few cards I created for my guest designer post on the Unity Stamp Co. blog today.  I inked up a few new Itty Bitty stamps that were sitting in my "to use" pile.  To create both cards I used only 4 sheets of paper from a 6" x 6" pad (from Authentique).  I still have a few scraps left but I really liked creating two cards at once with minimal leftovers.  I might try this a bit more often to prevent my scrap pile from getting out of control.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies (people card):Stamps: Itty Bitty Sweet Paper Pals set from Unity Stamp Co.
Ink: Versamark (for heat embossing)
Papers: Authentique Celebrate Line
Accessories: WOW! Embossing powder, The Twinery twine, Stamping Up notebook edge punch, SRM sticker sentiment, Glossy accents

Supplies (yo-yo):
Stamps: Itty Bitty I'm Here set from Unity Stamp Co.
Ink: Versafine black ink
Papers: Authentique Celebrate line
Accessories:  Offray Ribbon, Sizzix embossing folder (Tim Holtz), Glossy accents

Some black and white WOW!

Hello!  It's team day for the Powder Puff Girls over on the WOW! Blog and I have an elegant black and white card anniversary card to share with you.

To create my card I stamped the WOW! Brocade backgrounder onto some white cardstock and heat embossed with black embossing powder.  Then I took the same stamp, stamped it onto some black cardstock and heat embossed with some white powder.  I then cut my stamped panels into squares and patched them onto my card base before sewing around all the panels.

I finished off my card with some ribbon, bling and a sticker sentiment.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to see the rest of the team's projects over on the WOW! blog today.

Supplies:
WOW! Embossing Powders:  Primary Ebony (WH00), Opaque Bright White (WL01)

A golden card to cherish

Hello and Happy Friday.  Today I'm sharing a simple but elegant card monochrome card that I created using the large medallion stamp from last month's Unity SMAK kit.  This stamp is the perfect size for a standard A2 card base.

I heat embossed the medallion with some WOW! Embossing Powder (Sierra Sunrise), adhered it to some cardstock (that I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder) and added a strip of golden ribbon across the
top.  The sentiment was cut out of some patterned paper. To add a bit more elegance I sewed around the edges and added a large fabric brad to the center of the ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: July 2012 SMAK Kit of the Month (medallion)
Ink: Versamark (for embossing)
Papers: My Mind's Eye, Coredinations cardstock
Accessories: Sierra Sunrise glitter embossing powder from WOW! Embossing Powder, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Offray ribbon, Basic Grey fabric brad

Oh Happy Day! It's time for the annual Purple Onion Designs SALE SALE SALE!!

Hello friends!  Today I have a super cute (and easy) hybrid card to share with you using one of my favourite Stacey Yacula stamps and sentiment from Purple Onion Designs.

If you haven't gotten your hands on these beauties yet, now is the perfect time as POD is celebrating their NINTH year in business and Michele is offering 25% off ALL stamps until August 26th (see graphic below for more details).

And now onto my card......

The starburst background on this card is actually a free digital paper offered up by the super duper talented Mel Stampz.  If you've never checked out her blog, get on over there as she has a TON of cool freebies/templates and is the master of cool tutorials!!  She also has some AMAZING Purple Onion Designs projects posted.

I printed and trimmed the starburst paper onto some cardstock, trimmed it a bit and zig zag stitched all along the "seams".  Due to my less than stellar sewing skills I think it took me longer to do the sewing than making a few more cards LOL!  but I do love the look I achieved.  I stamped the image and sentiment onto some white paper, coloured with my Copics and die cut before adhering over the disaster of a center of where all the stitches merged.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Stacey Yacula Peep the bird from Purple Onion Designs, Stacey Yacula The Sweetest Day Sentiment Set from Purple Onion Designs
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Papers: Digital sunburst download from Mel Stampz blog, Georgia Pacific white cardstock, Neenah cardstock
Accessories:  Baker's Twine from the Twinery, Spellbinder's Die, button, Copic Markers

Hipping and Hopping with some Unity Phyllis Harris new release stamps!

Hello Unity Friends!  In case you didn’t notice, I was asked to stay as guest design for Unity for another month (yeah!!).  On today’s Hip Hop we’re showcasing six brand new Phyllis Harris stamp sets that are now available on the Unity Stamp Co. website!

I have two masculine cards to share with you today using the boy stamps from the release.  Up first is a card I made with the “No.Fun” set.  Don’t you just love the look on this little guys face?  I kept my design simple on this one and added some embossing to the background kraft paper.  Even though this is a more masculine card I still think it’s o.k. to add a bow on top of the wood button I used LOL!

My second card today uses the “Wishing We’re Forever Friends” set.    When I first started colouring this image I was a bit perplexed on how to make the night sky look night-y (if that’s a word).  So I pulled out my chalks and applied some grey and black tones all over the sky.  It’s a great way to fill in a large area and I think I was able to achieve a sky look without having to use a ton of markers.  I added some little die cut stars to my image panel and some Stickles to make the stars and moon shimmer.

And how about a special???
The NEW RELEASE Bundle Pack is available for only $58 - Regular price - $96!

Supplies (boy and dog):
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Black Distress Ink
Papers: Fancy Pants Designs, Neenah cardstock
Accessories:  Spellbinder’s dies (bracket die cut, mini stars), button, Stickles, Copic Markers, Pebbles Inc. chalk,

Supplies (No fun):
Stamps:  Phyllis Harris No.Fun set from Unity Stamp Co.
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Brown Distress Ink
Papers: My Mind’s Eye, Michaels Craft paper, Neenah cardstock
Accessories: Twill ribbon, baker’s twin from The Twinery, wood button, Copic Markers, Sizzix embossing folder

Here’s a list of all of today’s participants in case you get/got lost along the way

It's a ..... new baby set from Your Next Stamp

Hello stamping friends!  It's once again time to show some peeks of the fabulous new releases from Your Next Stamp, and as usual there are lots of fun new releases including a new baby set designed by Heather Rolin.  Be sure to stop by the YNS blog for the next few days for some more sneaks and designer projects AND on Monday it's release party day on Splitcoaststampers and of course the monthly blog hop where rumour has it you can win some great prizes!  Your Next Stamp is also celebrating it's THIRD birthday this month so be sure to check out all the festivities.

And now onto my projects......Today I two baby cards to share with you that I made with the new baby set.  The first card is a clean and simple design for a boy.  This card layout is becoming my "go to" design for quick cards (as you may have noticed LOL!) As you can see the "it's a boy" sentiment fits perfectly inside the onesie (the set also comes with a "it's a girl" sentiment).  This stamp also fits exactly in a 2" circle punch so you can use it with the Fun Flower stamp and die set for a quick frame.

My second card is all out girly!  I didn't quite know when to stop with the pearl paint on this one LOL!  For this cute stroller stamp you can use some small buttons for wheels.  The paper I used in this card is probably at least 10 years old!  I had an old pad of baby girl paper that I thought would be perfect with this stamp set.  This just proves that you don't have to have the latest and greatest papers to make some cute cards (well at least I think so!!)

Supplies:
Stamps and Dies:  Baby Set from Your Next Stamp (available August 6, 2012), Fun Flower scallop stamp and die set from Your Next Stamp (on boy card)
Papers:  Deja Views (Pink), Making Memories scalloped edge paper, Martha Stewart Crafts (blue), Georgia Pacific cardstock, Neenah cardstock
Accessories:  Offray ribbon, Viva Decor pearl pen, Making Memories tag, buttons, safety pin, Spellbinder's die, Deja Views ric rac punch out, Fiskars scalloped edge punch
