A belated Halloween card

Hello! Here's a Halloween card I created last month for the YNS blog that I forgot to share with you. I also shared these two tips:

1. Don't be afraid to "go outside the lines" of your card base. It adds lots of interest when you allow your elements to spill over the edges. I always make sure to make my card base smaller than the envelope though so it is still easy to mail. For this card the base is about 5" around so when I ship it I can easily fit in into a 5 1/2" or 6" square envelope

2. Don't be afraid to cut up your sentiment stamps. As you can see for this card I wanted the "Happy" portion on a different line. So you can either selectively ink the stamp OR do what I did and cut the sentiment in half (using my Tonic stamp scissors). It is super easy to stick back onto the backing sheet with the other part and then you can mix and match your sentiments! Go for it....don't be afraid!

Supplies:
Stamps: Happy Halloween Fhiona clear set from Your Next Stamp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Black Distress Ink
Papers: Coredinations cardstock, Neenah white cardstock
Accessories: Offray ribbon, Martha Stewart Halloween twine, Quickutz Spiderweb, button, Fishtail Banner die from Your Next Stamp, shaped card base (cut on Cricut)

Berry and Winterberry say "Hello Winter"

Hello friends!!  Today I have a clean and simple card to share with you that I created using some Stacey Yacula stamps from Purple Onion Designs.  I created a scene with the new release little snowman (Winterberry) and the large snowman from last year's release (Berry).

I stamped my images onto some kraft cardstock and then coloured them with some Copics and titanium white Kohinoor pencil crayon.  This is my new favourite brand of white pencil crayon....it goes on really smooth and requires NO blending!  To accent the image I added some white gel pen dots and then stamped some snowflakes in the background with some white pigment ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Oh, by the way, Michele has released some MORE new holiday stamps.  The new releases are perfect for Project Life or the December Daily project.  You can check them out here and stayed tuned for some samples from me when they arrive.

Supplies:
Stamps: Berry (large snowman) from Purple Onion Designs, Winterberry (small snowman) from Purple Onion Designs, Snowman framed doodle set (sentiment) from Purple Onion Designs, Snowflakes set from Purple Onion Designs
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, white pigment ink
Papers: Gina K kraft cardstock, Georgia Pacific white cardstock
Accessories: Mama Elephant die cuts, Darice foam snowflake, Kohinoor white pencil crayon, Devine Twine, red button, Copic Markers, white gel pen

It’s a Your Next Stamp post-release celebration!

Hello friends!  I’m back (along with the rest of the design team) to share a few more projects using the October new releases from Your  Next Stamp.  You also have until midnight October 25th to hop along and comment for your chance to win some great prizes.  You can find  the start of the hop on my previous post here.

If you’ve been to my blog before you probably noticed that I love to  experiment with some traditional stampy techniques.  For my projects  today I used the new Nativity stamp and used the embossed resist  technique for the images.  First I stamped the image in Versamark ink  and heat embossed with clear powder onto glossy cardstock.  I applied  some Kaleidacolor inks using my brayer which creates a ombre effect  over the image.  I mounted my images onto some tags and used up a  bunch of paper and ribbon/trim scraps.  I also added some of the  wonderful new YNS Gymdrop embellishments.  You MUST give these a try  as they look like pearls but without all the bulk!

Thanks for stopping by.  There is a linky list at the end of my post  for all of the other designer's participating in today's post release  celebration.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Nativity Scene from Your Next Stamp
Inks: Kaleidacolor - Cappuccino Delight (brown) and Blue Breeze (blue)
Papers:  Basic Grey, Pink Paislee, other misc. scraps, Ranger glossy cardstock
Accessories:  Your Next Stamp Gum Drop embellishments, trims, ribbon,  twine, WOW! Clear embossing powder, Darice foam snowflakes, Making Memories sentiment tags

Your Next Stamp October New Release Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to the Your Next Stamp October New Release Blog Hop!  The holidays are right around the corner, and we have some fabulous new products to help you create something special for everybody on your list!
The hop begins right here!  Our sweet boss lady’s birthday Karen is coming up on October 25th(Happy Birthday, Karen!!!) so she is celebrating by giving away a prize at every blog!  Make sure you leave comments on all of the DT blogs for your chance to win!

I have two projects to share with you today using the super cute new "Holiday Kids Collection" stamps.

First up I have an angelic monochrome-ish card for you.  I added lots of texture with one of my new snowflake embossing folders, adding some some lace trim and a doily under my image.  I opted to use a clear sticker sentiment on the card as I thought it went well with the image even though it totally bugs me how you can see the edges of it (hee hee).

Supplies:
Stamps: Holiday Kids Collection (Angel image) from Your Next Stamp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Papers: Basic Grey, Neenah cardstock
Accessories: Wilton doily, lace trim, The Twinery twine, wood button, Darice embossing folder, SRM Sticker sentiment, Copic Markers, Stickles

For my second card I went with some more traditional Christmas colours.  I embossed the kraft cardstock with another new snowflake folder (by Darice) and I dragged my white pigment ink over top to make it look snowy.  I jazzed up my image by adding some white dots with a gel pen, some glitter on the hat and I also added crystal lacquer to the light bulbs.    And yes, another doily.....I wish I had hoarded more of the older design that Wilton had out in the past but these will have to do LOL!

Supplies:
Stamps: Holiday Kids Collection (Angel image) from Your Next Stamp, Nativity scene (sentiment) from Your Next Stamp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, white pigment ink
Papers: Jillibean Soup, Neenah cardstock, The Paper Company kraft cardstock, Bazzill cardstock
Accessories: Wilton doily, red button, Devine Twine, Darice embossing folder, WOW! white embossing powder, Copic Markers, Stickles, Crystal accents

Karen is also offering some awesome Choose Your Discount Specials in the YNS Store so make sure you take advantage of these amazing deals!

Now it’s time to hop on over to Joni’s fabulous blog, but don’t forget to leave a comment before you go!  Happy hopping and shopping!

Perfect Paper Crafting with Your Next Stamp!! (Blog Hop with PRIZES!!)

Hello!!  Your Next Stamp and Perfect Paper Crafting have paired up this week for a special blog hop.  From Monday, Sept. 30 at 6:00 am PST to Friday Oct. 4 at midnight PST, you can hop along and comment for your chance to win over $100 in prizes!!  Perfect Paper Crafting is giving away a $50 gift certificate to their online store, and Your Next Stamp is also giving away a $50 gift certificate to their store! You must leave comments on all the blogs in order to be eligible for the drawing.

You should have arrived from Eva's blog.  If you happen to get lost along the way, I have included a link list at the bottom of my post.

I was lucky enough to get to play with the Perfect Layers Ruler....OMG, how have I lived without this tool????  It allows you to create perfect layers each and every time.  I can't wait to use this for matting photos for my scrapbooking because I can never get a straight mat with my cutter.

Basically you cut your first layer and then adhere it the next piece of cardstock.  The ruler lines up against the first layer and you cut with an exacto knife and voila....a perfect layer.  I created this fall card and used the perfect layer tool to cut the embossed background and orange cardstock layer.

Supplies:
Stamps: Fall of Colour set from  Your Next Stamp, Skinny Font Alphabet set from Your Next Stamp
Ink:  Palette Noir, Studio G white pigment Ink, brown Distress Ink
Papers:  Cosmo Cricket, kraft cardstock, Bazzill cardstock, Simple Stories
Accessories:  Copic markers, wood button, burlap twine, Fiskars Edge Punch, Darice Fall Leaf embossing folder

And what's a blog hop without a SALE???  Perfect Paper Crafting is providing a 5% discount all week (Discount code:YNS5%) and Your Next Stamp is offering up a 15% discount on all orders (Discount code: YNSPLHOP15)

Today I have two projects to share with you that I created with this month's fabulous releases.  First up is a card I made with the Magical Birthday (clear) set.  If you haven't tried YNS's clear stamps, you really must.  I will admit I'm a rubber kind of girl myself but the quality of the images of the YNS clear stamps is TOP NOTCH and they are such a great value!!  Plus of course it's nice to be able to see where you are stamping.

Supplies:
Stamps: Magical Birthday (clear) set from Your Next Stamp
YNS dies:  Fishtail banner set from Your Next Stamp
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Blue Distress Ink
Papers: Recollections, Neenah cardstock

Next up we have a card I made using the new Overdue Library clear stamp set and the new Pocket Die set.  I went for a more masculine look with this one and used some book themed paper from my stash.  This pocket die would be super cute to stick a gift card in too!

YNS Dies: Pocket Die Set from Your Next Stamp
Ink: Adirondack Denim, Adirondack Red Pepper, brown distress ink

Time for the August Your Next Stamp challenge

Hello friends!  It’s Friday, which means it’s time for another YNS Fun Friday.  If you haven’t been keeping track, Fun Friday is now a monthly sketch/inspiration challenge and we’d love if you played along.  And of course Karen is offering up a fabulous prize.  For more details, scroll to the bottom of the post.

I used this month's sketch for my inspiration to create this wild card.  I paired this cute “Zina from Africa stamp” with some zebra paper and bright colours to match her dress.  In order to tone down the zebra print for the background under my stamp, I covered it with a circle of vellum.  It's a great way to take some of the crazy out of your designer paper.

Today's Tip:  Use your white gel pen to add accents to your image.  As you can see I used lots of white dots which I think really adds to the character of her dress. I often also use my white gel pen to brighten up the eyes or break up large areas of the same colours.

Be sure to pop on over to the YNS Challenge blog for more great samples from the design team.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Zina from Africa from Your Next Stamp
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Papers:  Recollections, Jillibean Soup, white vellum
Accessories:  SRM Stickers, black lace ribbon, Spellbinder's die, white gel pen

Here's a few quick points about the Fun Friday Challenge...

1.  There will be one challenge per month to play along with as many times you like.  (Inspiration/Sketch--do one or the other, or both!)
2.  Each monthly challenge will start on the First Friday of every month right here on the Your Next Stamp Challenge Blog.
3.  PRIZES:  You may use
any brand of stamps for the challenge to be eligible to win a YNS  $10 gift certificate.  However, in order to win a special "YNS Top Pick" badge for your blog, YNS stamps/dies must be the focal point of your card or project.
4.  GUEST DESIGNER SPOT:  A monthly YNS Guest Designer will be chosen from the challenge participants, and get to play along with us in NEW RELEASES and also receive a fabulous package of previously released stamps!  FUN!!!
5.  All projects must be linked up on the YNS Challenge blog to be eligible to win.
6.  Be sure to check out the YNS Challenge blog every Friday for more inspiration from the design team using the monthly Inspiration/Sketch.  You will WANT to play along!

You Gotta Eat Here (Project Life layout)

Hello friends!  First things first.  Purple Onion Designs is celebrating their TENTH anniversary!  To celebrate, Michele is offering 25% off all stamps.  In addition, there are a bunch of great clearance items in the store.  Scroll down to the bottom for all the details or look at the banner on the home page.

You may recall I mentioned a few weeks ago that Purple Onion Designs has released a ton of new stamps.  I finally got to get a Project Life type layout done with the new Foodie set.  Most of the stamps in the set work perfectly for the PL page protectors.    I created this layout using only three sheets of double sided paper (from Crate paper).  I used the scraps to create my stamped images for the photos and the journaling cards.  I printed the menu from the restaurant and used it as an insert in the middle of the layout (scroll down for photo).

This is just ONE of the amazing new journaling sets that Michele has up in the new release section.  They are all perfectly scaled for Project Life so pop on over and check them out!  And thanks for checking my blog out today.

Here's a closer look at the left side of the layout:

And the right side:

And part of the menu insert:

And here's the full double page spread with the menu insert as it will look in my album.  Sorry for the lousy photo but the glare off the page protectors makes it hard to get a good photo.

And here's the sale info in case you "need" to get some new stamps:

Supply list:
Stamps: Foodie set from Purple Onion Designs, Love Ticket from Purple Onion Designs
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Papers: Crate paper
Accessories: Spellbinder's dies, Fancy Pants letter stickers, Kaisercraft mini letter stickers, Marvy corner rounder
