Hello Friend!

Hello friends!  I just got my nice BIG shipment of new stamps from Purple Onion Designs and couldn't wait to get started with them.  Here's another creation using the new Stacey Yacula Sweet Summer collection.  I created a little scene (using masking) with some trees and Blueberry the Bear from the collection.  To give his fur more texture I coloured with my Copics in a couple shades of brown and then used the colourless blender to add dots all over.  It gives a little more interest to the image when colouring large areas of the same colour (well at least in my opinion LOL!).

Stay tuned for some more creations with the new up will be some Project Life cards/layouts!  Thanks for stopping by.

Stamps:  Blueberry (the bear) from Purple Onion Designs, 2 forests (trees) from Purple Onion Designs, Sweet Summer sentiments from Purple Onion Designs (Please note that links are to the "New Release" section of the website.  You can eventually find them under the "Stacey Yacula designs" section in the future)
Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa, light brown distress ink
Papers:  WRMK Happy Campers 6 x 6 paper pad, Neenah cardstock
Accessories:  burlap twine, wood button, Copic Markers, Fiskars border punch

Last chance to play along with the YNS July challenge!

Good morning!  It's the last Friday of the month (WOW! When did *that* happen?) so it's your last chance to play along with the Your Next Stamp monthly sketch/inspiration challenge.  Be sure to pop on over to the YNS Challenge blog to see the sketch and inspiration photo and some creations from the design team.

I used the sketch again as my inspiration and used the new July release "Lilah" set. I'm trying to work on using different skin tones and hair colours on my images so I went with a darker tan tone and some blond hair for colouring my image.  I paper pieced my image and used my Copics to colour the wood button accent on the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stamps: Lilah (girl and sentiment) from Your Next Stamp
Papers: Authenique, Neenah cardstock
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Distress Ink (brown)

Some Disney pocket journalling cards

Hello!  I'm not sure if you've had a chance to check out this month's new releases from Your Next Stamp but I literally squealed with excitement when Karen showed us the new Journaled Weekly Die set!

I was recently at my local scrapbooking store a few weeks ago and discovered that you can buy bulk packages of the "Project Life" page protectors.  I've been looking for some of the specific styles for a while but it wasn't cost effective to buy them from the States due to the high shipping rates.  Anyhoo, the product lines are available up here now so I'm well stocked and ready to start putting together some albums.  As I mentioned before I don't intend to scrap every week but I will use the page projectors as I see fit whether it be for a month on a page, a special event or the occasional weekly layouts.

So if you haven't noticed, the journaling cards you can purchase for these pocket style albums are not cheap and I was wondering when a punch or die would be available.....and my wish was granted when Karen came up with this AMAZING die set.  The rounded corner card fits perfectly in those protectors and it comes with a whole assortment of dies inside including the days of the week.  Because the die is also blank in the middle you can even die cut your photos into just the right size for the pockets.....HELLO AWESOME!!  So here are two journaling cards I made for my Florida trip this past winter.  You'll have to wait to see the finished layout until I print out some photos.

And *phew* this is a long post but don't forget you have until midnight tonight (July 24th) to leave a comment on YESTERDAY'S blog hop post for your chance to win a gift certificate to the YNS store.

You're an All Star! Your Next Stamp's July release

Hello and welcome to the Your Next Stamp July New Release Blog Hop!   Today we are sharing projects made with all of the adorable new stamp sets and awesome new dies that are available NOW in the Your Next Stamp Store!
The hop will run through Wednesday, July 24th at 12 midnight (EST) and as always we have a fabulous prize to be won if you hop along with us!  Just leave comments on all of the participating DT blogs for your chance to win a $20 gift certificate from the YNS store!
The hop begins on Laura’s Blog and if you’ve been hopping along, you should have arrived from Susan's blog.  For my project(s) today I used the new "Sport Ellie" stamp and turned her into a he by cutting off the top part of the hair.  Talk about a GREAT way to make your stamps more versatile (and no, this wasn't my idea another design team member did this in the past and I just borrowed the idea).  The stamp comes with several sentiments and some different sports equipment for all the sports fans/players in your life:
Stamps:  Sport Ellie from Your Next Stamp
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Papers:  Neenah cardstock, Basic Grey
Accessories:  Fiskars edge punch, Spellbinder's die, button, Copic markers

Hey there happy camper!

Hello friends!  It's been a while (again!).  Today I have some super cuteness to share with you using my new Stacey Yacula summer stamps from Purple Onion Designs.  If you haven't seen them yet you HAVE to check them out.  In addition to this line there are some AMAZING Project Life type stamps that have been released (stay tuned for some projects using those!).

Meet happy camper Rayne.  I created a little scene using him and the tent and campfire stamps.  I was digging around in my scraps pile and found some fabulous old Scenic Route papers that are totally perfect for my outdoors-y look.

I added a little texture to the card by adding a wood grain embossed panel and it's hard to tell from the photo but I "popped" out Rayne using some foam dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Stamps:  Rayne (boy) from Purple Onion Designs, Tent and Camp fire from Purple Onion Designs
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Brown distress ink
Papers:  Scenic Route, kraft card stock, Neenah white cardstock
